△ Category: Accreditation and quality assurance
Our greatest asset is the validity of the statements made in our results reports, reports and methods. Routinely ensuring our quality through internal and external checks guarantees the validity of our statements and forms the foundation of our analytics.
Designating our laboratory as an “accredited testing center” requires an annual review of our quality management with regard to all accredited procedures.
The current scope of accreditation of our independent accredited testing center for chemical analysis (according to ÖVE/Önorm EN ISO/IEC 17025) is described on the website of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs.

Accredited test facility and standard-compliant analyses
With the year 2023, Chemcon GmbH has been able to call itself an "accredited test center according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025" for 30 years, thus confirming its competence as a testing and calibration laboratory.
Furthermore, the laboratory has been delivering quality for three decades not only by itself, but also based on the used, analytical measurement methods. All determination procedures and SOPs carried out are either accredited, based on a standard (DIN/ EN/ ISO/ IEC/ ASTM etc.), or created by our own trained technicians and chemists and adjusted to the customer’s needs.
If you would like to receive information, which methods are included in our scope of accreditation, or which standard procedures are carried out, please send us an inquiry using the contact form below or by telephone.

General Wastewater Emissions Ordinance (germ.:AAEV)
The General Wastewater Emissions Ordinance sets general parameter-related limit values for wastewater, which must generally be prescribed by the authority as an emission limit when authorizing discharge into a watercourse or public sewer system (-Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management, 11/2023)
The AAEV not only contains the parameters that must be adhered to, but also specifies the regularity of the examination. It applies to both indirect dischargers and direct dischargers, i.e. regardless of whether discharged water goes via the canal route or not. Since these involve several detailed pieces of legislation, the majority of our customers do not have the resources or expertise to be able to explain these legal texts correctly. Whether the incoming notice or the government request for a test report is understood or not, failure to provide it will always result in fines being paid.
In order to prevent this, we would be happy to advise you on what the regulation/notice means for you and how you can meet the necessary requirements as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. Simply forward your request to us using the form below.

I
Indirect Discharge Ordinance (germ.: IEV)
We have been serving customers from a wide range of economic sectors for over 30 years. Vehicle painters, candy manufacturers, electroplaters, textile cleaners and plastic film producers are a few examples. Despite the product diversity of these companies, they all have one in common. Depending on your location, you will all have to prove to the legislature that your wastewater is harmless to the environment or at least that it is safely discharged into the sewer system. This is usually done through notices. Any company that does not discharge wastewater into the public sewage system in “household quantities” must comply with the valid indirect discharger regulation IEV.
These requirements can often be very opaque. At least as problematic is the fact that such requests are often responded to too late. The consequence of this is always fines. Since these reports have to be repeated at regular intervals, enormous amounts of money can be incurred if they are not followed.
Team Chemcon stands ready to determine if you need an examination, explain the notices you need to comply with, carry out the sampling and carry out the entire analysis right up to the finished test report. If you wish, we can also report you to the authorities.
Ask us any of your questions using the contact form below.
Inspection based on §82b GewO (inspection of operational systems)
The recurring inspection of operating systems is regulated in Section 82b of the Trade Code (GewO) 1994 and obliges every owner of an operating system to inspect it or have it inspected at certain intervals. Our testing center is authorized to carry out testing due to the technical scope of its accreditation. Whether you need an inspection or just want an advice, you can reach us using the contact form.

Operating facilities – approval process
Commercial facilities that require approval in accordance with the 1994 Trade Code (GewO 1994) may only be built and operated with a business facility permit.
All systems that are suitable because of the use of machines and devices, because of their mode of operation, because of their equipment or otherwise, certain protective interests described in more detail in Section 74 Paragraph 2 GewO 1994 (e.g. protection of the life or health of customers or neighbors ) require an operating facility permit and corresponding approval procedures.
Such procedures can be extremely opaque, which is why we offer our advice and audit authority.

Per-fluorinated acids PFAS
Perfluorinated acids and their derivatives represent one of the greatest global environmental threats of our time. They come in a wide variety of molecular sizes, branches, functional groups and, above all, names.
Why are PFAS dangerous? As with many chemical substances, PFAS are known for their toxicity, corrosive, harmful, irritating, mutative, carcinogenic and mutagenic properties. The serious difference, however, is that PFAS combine two important properties, lipophilicity due to their basic organic structure and fluorine chain and yet hydrophilicity due to the acid group. This means that these substances can be easily transported through water-based systems and at the same time stored in, for example, fat cells. Finally, perfluorination means that PFAS cannot/hardly be broken down naturally.
Thus, the human body collects PFAS from many sources, such as drinking water, and accumulates them in his/her body. Above all, the risk of cancer increases enormously.
Where do PFAS come from? Main causes of global PFAS contamination are:
The uncontrolled discharge of industrial wastewater from countries that have little or no environmental pollution. Due to their high mobility and bioaccumulation, such substances spread quickly across the seas.
The use and cleaning of contaminated materials, for example washing outdoor moisture-proof clothing or using coated pans.
The new TWVO: In 2026, the EU presents the parameter "total PFAS" with a limit of 100 ng/l. PFAS pose an analytical challenge due to their diversity in terms of hydro/lipophilicity and their chemical/biochemical mode of action. That is why we began developing methods already since 2017 that aim at the absolute and specific enrichment of most individual PFAS substances and at selective, highly sensitive quantification in order to meet the new guidelines in advance.

Separator analysis
Any company that does not discharge wastewater in “household quantities” into the public sewage system must comply with the valid indirect discharger regulation (germ.: IEV). This is often achieved by installing a grease separator, especially in the food sector, or a mineral oil separator, which can often be found in car repair shops, for example. Chemcon offers support in the following areas:
- Explanation of requirements (notice requirements are often very complex, which is why we have specialized in explaining customers' requirements as simply as possible)
- Complete analytical package (We carry out the entire investigation, from defining the sampling location to the laboratory examination and reporting to the authorities)
- Prevention of expensive fines (If limit concentrations are exceeded, this can lead to immense fines. In order to forestall this, a thorough investigation is often required)
